senior year(where have I been)

It has been so long since I have actually had the time to sit down and just...write. I'm actually even a part of my schools' newspaper, and I still don't write often since I'm a page designer(I create layouts for our publication). I don't even have a regular English class this year...

Hold on, I'm getting ahead of myself.

I'm in my senior year of high school(yay!) and I've been crazy busy. I don't want this to be a post full of excuses, but one of...reconnection.

It's so hard not to just utterly slack off this year,  especially once you've already gotten accepted into a college(eeeeee!!).

I'm so happy to have gotten my first acceptance! Now I have at least one place to go to, haha! Yay!

I also turned 17 almost two weeks ago on the 22nd! I spent some time with family and friends - lot's of fun!

There are so many things I've been doing lately that I've realized are my last ones ever. Homecoming. The parade with all of the different grades. The dance. The game. I'm never really going to be a part of those again.

I'm never going to rush the field at the homecoming game that we won. I'm never again going to scream my heart out at the homecoming dance, and then freeze my ass off in the cold afterwards.

I've been doing things that I never would've imagined myself doing in the past. Like signing up to represent my school in a tug of war match against our biggest rival. In front of three or four thousand people. I loved every minute of it.

Especially when we won.

I've been having a great time. I think this is the first year where I've been really, really happy on a daily basis. Not that I've ever been a unhappy person, but these days its like a cloud I'm just floating around on.

So that's why I've kind of let blogging fall under the radar. (sorry face)

I feel like I keep having to apologize for not being consistent, but I'm not going to keep doing that.

Look foward to an October faves post on FriYAY!

I hope you guys have a week(life!) full of happiness.

I wore a cashmere scarf to my last  high school homecoming football game last Friday. That probably wasn't the best decision, considering how wild and excitable games could be. But it was 45 degrees(and still is) and it kept me warm.

Unfortunately, I caught a bit of a cold.

I love scarves though, so I'm not blaming them! Today I have a post for you featuring some adorable scarves for you all that I've been looking at and considering.

The first scarf is adorable. I am a sucker for circle scarves, and even more of a sucker for all things Lilly Pulitzer. It doesn't hurt that its pink and navy.,.

The second scarf is the perfect blue. And its cashmere! Not typically a fall color, but would look excellent with a trench, like my new J.Crew. one which I hope to feature on the blog soon.

This scarf definitely has a bit of a Burberry vibe, perfect for those of us who can't or don't want to break the bank at the moment. It's also the only one on this list that is mot only cute, but functional. Beauty doesn't have to be pain with this one.

I love gray. It is the perfect neutral, without being too dark or too light. My mother likes to say that 'Gray is the New Black' which I can completely agree on.

Finally I've featured another printed infinity scarf. I love how abstract the colors are, and it doesn't hurt that its less than $20 bucks. Nordstrom's BP section is on point!

Wishing you all an excellent Tuesday! :)

Cute Bootie!

Happy Fall! And a Happy Birthday to my momma, I know your're reading this. :)

I love all things Autumn. It's my fave season by a long shot. I could list a million reasons why I love the season(hint hint-check back Friday!). But one of those reasons is the fashion!

Especially the shoes. So many shoes.

Here are a few of my faves that I think are totally worth picking up.

I've been wanting these for 37373 years.
I wold never know these were from Target!
These are so badass.

A dainty boot from Nordstrom

 Enjoy your Tuesday!

I can't believe I start senior year tomorrow! #2016

August Favorites

I know I probably say this every month, but August really flew by. I cannot believe its already September. Summer only has a few more days left to it, and Fall is drawing near, bringing pumpkin spice lattes, UGG boots and cardigans galore. #YESSS

Okay, let's get back on topic: August.

1. Flash Tattoos

I suppose these have been "in" for a while now, but I totally didn't pick up my first pack until July, and didn't use them until this month. They are so cute, and add such a nice accent, especially with the pretty gold and silver tones. I think my Dad actually thought they were real..oops. 10/10 recommend!

2. Shopping//Back To School

Personally, I don't need a good reason to shop. But heading back to school for my senior year! is definitely a good one. So. Many. Bags. #blessed One of my best steals was a summer tank with a palm leaf from J.Crew Factory that I'd been eyeing. I scored it for less than 5 bucks. RUN. Add me on Snapchat @zoegraceblogs!

3. New Music//The Weeknd

Like a lot of people, I didn't discover The Weeknd until his duet with Ariana Grande/50 Shades Movie song that were/are literal fire. But I have been absolutely obsessed ever since. He dropped a new album last Friday the 28th and I am in love. My fave from the album is Tell Your Friends or Dark Times Ft. Ed Sheeren which is SUCH a power duo.

Also loving What Do You Mean by Justin Bieber which dropped the same day. I really have grown up with J.B.'s music. #BelieberForLife

4. My New Phone//iPhone 6

I finally upgraded my phone---thanks Mom--and I'm obsessed, the gold is gorgeous. Here's a screenshot of some of my most used apps. Follow me @thepeculiarprep

5. Jewelry//Alex and Ani

I've been wanting to start collecting these dainty little bracelets ever since my little sister(what a trendsetter) started hers. I finally broke down a few weeks ago, and got my first two. I was going back and forth between gold and silver as I like both the same(partial to rose gold, which isn't an option). I ended up going with silver which was a surprising choice for me. I think they pop on me though, which rocks.

Happy Birthday to my sister, she turns 14 today! :)

What did you love last month?

P.S. Check out my Blogiversary post from last week! The Peculiar Prep turned 1!:)

Blogiversary: One Year

Oplaten, samen met kaartjes met een wens er op. Spannend hoeveel je er terug krijgt en waar vandaan!

For 367 days, I've a had a little home on my own corner of the internet.

Throughout those days I've gone through a name change, purchased my own domain, changed my design a couple of times, and just experienced overall personal evolution.

I'm a year older, and I hope wiser. In this year, I think the quality of my posts have improved quite a bit. I can chuckle about a couple of my old ones.

Here are a few posts, new and old that I think are worth readimg:

Weekend In My Life//

Desk Inspo//

I went to Lilly//

This week should've been more of a celebratory one, but honestly I've been so so busy lately that I didn't even have time to get this post out on time. I think that says something about blogging as a hobby, and how difficult is to keep up.

School, work, friends. Blogging can fall behind in our lives. But we, I  love it so much, that I try my best to carve out time for quality posts. I think they are only improving, and I can't imagine where I'll be this time next year.

I've had the opportunity to partner with a few brands, which is crazy awesome. But even more awesome than that is the awesome people that I've been fortunate enough to connect with. Here's a link to a few of them below. There are many more lovely ladies, but here are a few.

These ladies above are awesome and I urge you all to check them out! '

And now for you, my reader. I appreciate you the most. Those of you that read all my posts, or just catch them occasionally. I even love you, new reader! Without you guys, I would be writing to an empty internet. But I have you guys.

Thank you so so much for one magical year of blogging.

I know my readership has grown this year, so I ask you to please follow me. If you only can follow me in a couple places, please follow me on bloglovin! It helps me to keep you all updated on all my posts! The app is free and I am obsessed with it. Follow me and see what other blogs I'm reading:

Also please follow me on Instagram. I am so close to 500, and I will be doing a giveaway once I am safely past. Thank you so much! @thepeculiarprep

Desk Inspiration #BloggersBTS

Unfortunately, my room is a bit to small to comfortably be a home to a desk. Also unfortunately, I am obsessed with desk decor, and stationary-esque accessories.

So I decided I'd let some of that love out, all over this weeks #BloggersBTS post!

Threshold™ French Bulldog Tape Dispenser

Let's start off with this wittle French Bulldog. AHHH its SO CUTE. I don't even have a desk, but it's just too cute to pass up. Everytime I see it in Target I shed a few tears. I might just pick it up for college next year(that's crazy to say, wow). If you have a desk, run don't walk. It's less than $15 bucks!

I am obsessed with Sarah KJP & Kiel (it's really not that hard to be, tbh). But her office is just. I have no words, but I suppose perfection will have to suffice. I love everything about this desk area, from those gorgeous shelves, the stripe of the chair, or the shade of green on the walls. I cry for my deskless existence.

Binders: Target

One of the perks of having a desk is the ease of having a dependable workspace. I'm forced to work at the table in my house, which is fine, but its also where we eat, etc. Here's a few of my new supplies that I would love to see tucked inside a desk drawer,

Soon I might just get crazy desperate and do this:

Ahh, Buzzfeed.

After all, where am I going to put my pretty gold stapler?

But most important, where the heck am I gonna hide my half eaten bags of Skinny Pop?

Thanks for reading, and make sure to read the other #BloggersBTS posts linked below! I mean, you can't have too much desk inspo, right?

Leave me a comment and tell me about you desk?
